The Best Hotels in Haifa

Of course, if you’re a tourist in Israel, you’ll go to see Tel-Aviv; Jerusalem will be an obvious destination. You might even go to Eilat or visit the Desert. But many tourists skip Haifa as a stop in their trip (which is a shame considering the attractions, street food, amazing beach, and incredible weekend atmosphere). If we’ve convinced you to add this city to your list of must-see, here are the places you’d want to stay in.

Templers Boutique Hotel // MAP SITE

Location wise, this place hit the jackpot. It’s in the center of the German Colony, one of Haifa’s most beautiful, serene areas, and – it’s overlooking the Bahai Gardens, which you should definitely visit. The rooms are well decorated, have free WiFi, a big TV, and air conditioning (in Israel, it’s rare to find a hotel without A\C). You can also upgrade to a room with a balcony, a jacuzzi, or a kitchenette. The breakfast is great (Israelis love breakfast), and the historic building gives a unique feel to the visit.

Dan Panorama // MAP SITE

If you’re less into old buildings and more into luxury chains – go to Dan Panorama. From the 21st story, you get an amazing panoramic view of the entire Carmel region (and in fact – the view from the rooms is just as spectacular). It’s great for families with kids because of the children’s pool and the kids’ club. There’s a well-equipped gym, a heated outside pool, and even a direct link to Panorama mall. It’s close to all the city’s main attractions so that you can enjoy a productive weekend.

The Colony Hotel // MAP SITE

Going back to the German Colony area, this is great for anyone looking for peace. Haifa is a big city, and if you want to spend a peaceful couple of days, the Colony Hotel is great. There’s a neat garden, sunbathing area on the rooftop, and mostly – very little room to make your stay serene and secluded. The rooms are modern, with free WiFi, coffee makers, and flat-screen TVs. This modernity is in stark contrast to the 100-year-old historic building it’s set in. You’ll be close to cafes, restaurants, and malls – and there’s a lot of free parking if you plan on getting here by car.

Leonardo Plaza // MAP SITE

Wanna be right on top of the beach? Leonardo Plaza has got you covered. Wake up every morning to find the ocean spread in front of you, and go for a swim just 5 minutes from your room. There’s also a big indoor pool, an incredible, varied breakfast, and all the suites are stunning. If you get here during the summer, the indoor pool (located on the rooftop) becomes an outdoor pool, as the roof opens above it. You can go on free guided tours of the area, and you’ll be close to the train station and a short drive away from the main attractions.

Bay Club Boutique Hotel // MAP SITE

In this beautiful building, you’ll find a combination of elegance and convenience. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, with a fridge, seating area, and a coffee corner. You’ll get a terrific garden view you can enjoy from the balcony. Breakfast is served in the garden, next to the beautiful fountain. On weekdays, enjoy free drinks and appetizers in the afternoon in the lounge – perfect before that midday nap. You’ll be halfway between the city center and Carmel mountain, and the hotel provides shuttle rides to the central locations.
